Arco Art - Marjolein Fonseca Verhoef

Marjolein Verhoef was born in the town of Breda, the Netherlands in 1963. She studied at the Art Academy in the town of Amerfoort, Holland, but has lived in Bonaire for many years.

Following her art training, she started out as an art teacher at Bonaire’s secondary school. After 6 years of teaching she set up her own art school which she ran for 5 years. In the meantime she was involved as an art instructor for various art courses organized by a number of NGO’s on the island.

But while doing these jobs she began to feel she wanted to do her own artwork. Ever since she has been sculpting (ceramics), painting (murals) and recently creating artworks in glass.
