The Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) announced a nearly $500 million investment in recent tourism upgrades, which will continue through 2011. In addition to upgrades on existing hotels and resorts, Aruba continues to develop of new tourism products in response to high demand.

“Even in tight economic times, people are still traveling to Aruba,” said Myrna Jansen-Feliciano, managing director for the Aruba Tourism Authority. “Over the past year, Aruba has not only seen the addition of new restaurants, spas, hotels and attractions that appeal to every type of visitor, but we have also increased air service from some of our top markets including New York and Boston.”

Delta Air Lines has added a second daily flight to Aruba from Atlanta, effective Dec. 20. JetBlue will also increase service to Aruba from New York and Boston this coming winter season. John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport will receive an additional flight on Saturdays, increasing the schedule to two daily flights departing for Aruba, and three flights on Saturdays.

The Boston market also enjoys service increases from three JetBlue flights a week to four flights week from January through mid-February 2009. From mid-February through April 2009, this service will increase from three to seven flights a week every day except Tuesday, with two flight options on Saturdays.
