Fortunato vs Dutch State Secretary of Justice & Security
Dominican father is denied residence on Bonaire, despite being
married to a Dutch national, mother of his very young child. The number of
violations of human rights (including children’s rights) in this case is so
astounding that one wonders whether human rights are being taken seriously by
the Dutch government. No, we have to phrase it more definitively. This case
shows that the Dutch government does not consider human rights seriously anymore.
